Settling in

Well, we are settling into our new Indiana home. We've explored the beach, the Chicago Zoo with my childhood friend Rochelle and her 3 kids, gotten a little more used to being in the real world and having to cook our own food and even had our first visitors!
Here are the shots:

We made it to the beach last week, It is beautiful, huge amazing sand and cool water - Brooklyn got away on us and put her face into the sand - a little too young for the beach still I guess.

The Zoo with Rochelle and her adorable kids was a highlight. The Zoo in Chicago is free and as good as any I've been to! I still can't believe Rochelle and I are living so close! (She is one of my closest friends from childhood!) I tried to get photos of Rochell's kids, but they are too quick for me! These are the only shots I got - they were off and running the whole time! They are darn cute though.

Lions, Tigers, Bears, Giraffs, Rhinos, hyinas and snakes,

The Monkeys were our faves though!

As you can see, Brooklyn was very excited!

I'm mostly using recipes from Rochelle and Leah - I've made California rolls, Cafe Rio, Fajitas, Salmon Salad, Hummas and Babaganush and !
Trey made the most incredible Fried chicken the other night though - best meal he's ever made! It's his new specialty for when we have guests -hint hint...

Brig and his good friend Jaiden were on a road trip, coming up from Florida with Jaiden's beautiful new car! They stayed for one night -We loved having them and Trey loved getting a sweet ride in it!

It looks like there is no lack of entertainment where you are! I didn't realize there was a beach nearby.

We finally found housing in Birmingham. Nothing like your palace but we both know about the endless searching that goes into renting a private residence.

You must post the Cafe Rio recipe. Being pregnant and away from Cafe Rio is agony!

Option for a Healthy Birth

I am not typically a big writer on my blog. I usually just post a few dozen photos of my adorable child and make little comments below. Well, I need some sort of outlet for all of my frustrations and thoughts and would love some feedback on them. As many of you know, I ended up getting a C-section with Brooklyn after planning on a completely natural birth with the help of Hypnosis. That is a whole nother story, and I wont' go into it, but I learned a lot about the what I want and need to have a healthy delivery. After extensive research into the process of birth, I know that it is possible for me to have a beautiful, natural birth and the things that that entails really aren't extreme and are in fact proven to be healthier choices for both me and my baby. (For our book group this month, we are reading "Gentle Birth Choices" by Barbara Harper, which is one of several books I have read on the topic and one that I would highly recommend - as well as the documenary ...

Washington D.C.

So I am finally getting around to catching up on the blog! My excuse for not blogging for months is that life has been insane - don't we all have that excuse though? Here is a brief description of mine though. Blogs to come. October 10th, Trey left for DC and I had a few days to get everything together for 3 weeks away. I decided to bottle a dozen or so bottles of Grapejuice, throw a dinner party etc. But soon we were off. We spent 11 amazing days in DC with our INCREDIBLE friends the Boeys. They were so hospitable and fun! (Adding to the fun and craziness of it all, My Sister Brooke and her family just happened to be there at the same time, and my BYU roommate Sariah and BFF from Childhood Kelly both live there) (SEE BLOG) Straight from D.C., we went to Georgia for 5 days to visit Trey's Grandparents. It was amazing and I will blog soon about that! Spent Halloween there As soon as I got home, my dear companion from Taiwan was in town, so I met up with her and 2 of my oth...
