Happy Mother's Day!

As a new Mom, I am grasping how absolutely incredible My Mom is. I have always known she is amazing, but every day, I realize how wonderful she is in another way.
In ways like how she stayed at home Mom with one child, away from all family and most friends. How she made (mostly) Delicious and always Nutritious meals for 3, and soon 8 every day for over 25 years! In growing a Herbalife business with 1,2,3, 4, 5 and 6 kids! Actually, doing everything she did with that many kids! One of the best examples of her strength, ingenuity and pure guts was that she took all 8 of her family members around the world for an entire year! It boggles my mind!
Every step of pregnancy and now motherhood I wonder how one would do it with another child -LET ALONE 6! I have not figured it out, but she did it brilliantly with wisdom and grace.
I am grateful for her incredible example of selflessness, love, intelligence, intuition, spirituality and care. She is my HERO!
Even though I am a mother myself now, I am still her little girl, going to her when I have problems and successes. I still watch her - as Brooklyn sometimes does with me - with amazement and interest. I still hope to be more like her someday.

Happy Mothers Day MOM!

I have also been blessed with other incredible mother figures. Incredible women like Judy, Ginger, my Grandmothers, and Nana as well as many other women that I look up to and have learned arts of motherhood from.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You Deserve every gift and kind word, hug and kiss that comes to you this day!
Love Paige

Finally, here is a little Mother's day poem that hit home for me and I wanted to share it.

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts. I slept all night..
I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth,
the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

Option for a Healthy Birth

I am not typically a big writer on my blog. I usually just post a few dozen photos of my adorable child and make little comments below. Well, I need some sort of outlet for all of my frustrations and thoughts and would love some feedback on them. As many of you know, I ended up getting a C-section with Brooklyn after planning on a completely natural birth with the help of Hypnosis. That is a whole nother story, and I wont' go into it, but I learned a lot about the what I want and need to have a healthy delivery. After extensive research into the process of birth, I know that it is possible for me to have a beautiful, natural birth and the things that that entails really aren't extreme and are in fact proven to be healthier choices for both me and my baby. (For our book group this month, we are reading "Gentle Birth Choices" by Barbara Harper, which is one of several books I have read on the topic and one that I would highly recommend - as well as the documenary ...

Washington D.C.

So I am finally getting around to catching up on the blog! My excuse for not blogging for months is that life has been insane - don't we all have that excuse though? Here is a brief description of mine though. Blogs to come. October 10th, Trey left for DC and I had a few days to get everything together for 3 weeks away. I decided to bottle a dozen or so bottles of Grapejuice, throw a dinner party etc. But soon we were off. We spent 11 amazing days in DC with our INCREDIBLE friends the Boeys. They were so hospitable and fun! (Adding to the fun and craziness of it all, My Sister Brooke and her family just happened to be there at the same time, and my BYU roommate Sariah and BFF from Childhood Kelly both live there) (SEE BLOG) Straight from D.C., we went to Georgia for 5 days to visit Trey's Grandparents. It was amazing and I will blog soon about that! Spent Halloween there As soon as I got home, my dear companion from Taiwan was in town, so I met up with her and 2 of my oth...

He Arrived!

Baby Jude Harris Clark Finally arrived January 31st at 4;19am. 8lb 7oz, 22 inches long and perfect in every way! I will have more photos of the Handsome Man as well as my birth story soon. For now I am just going to do an overview of all the events that led up to the wonderful arrival. Since my actual due date was January 22nd, that is when Brooke, my older sister/best friend/hero, came to help. She brought her most adorable daughter Hannah with her and Brooklyn was basically in Heaven. A playmate and the most awesome aunt ever who constantly has another activity to do with her. They played out in the snow together, made cookies for the nurses when I was getting ready to go to the hospital, colored, painted, went on outings and I don't even know what else because I was sleeping a lot of the time they were together having fun. On top of it, she spoiled me rotten by cooking, cleaning and even shopping for us! My meal contribution was Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and Culver's Froz...
